Both Uganda and Niger will be looking for their first wins in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign when they lock horns at St Mary’s Stadium on Wednesday.
Uganda opened the campaign with a 2-0 defeat to Algeria on Saturday, while Niger were held to a 1-1 draw by Tanzania on the same day. Now Uganda Cranes sit at the bottom of Group F with zero points while Niger sit third on one point.
The Cranes have failed to win any of their last three competitive outings, picking up one draw and losing two. They will need to bounce back to winning ways here to stand a better chance of challenging for the top spots.
Meanwhile the Menas have lost one of their last five games across all competition, claiming four draws in the run. However, they have won just two of their last 12 matches on the road and remain without a win in 2022. Therefore whey will also want to bounce back to winning ways to better their chances of finishing in top two spots of the group.
This will be a close encounter as both sides will be going for all points, but we are backing a share of the spoils.
