Reading Women vs Tottenham Hotspur Ladies Match Analysis & Prediction
04/12/2022 5:30 pm
Reading Women will be looking to end a three-game winless streak in the Women’s Super League when they welcome Tottenham Hotspur Ladies to Berkshire on Sunday.
The Royals currently occupy 11th place while Tottenham sit in seventh spot after losing 3-0 to Chelsea in their most recent league game.
After beginning the WSL campaign with four consecutive defeats, Reading finally recorded their first league win of the season when they claimed a narrow victory over Leicester on October 30.
Although they followed their win over the Foxes with two straight defeats, they managed to salvage a point from their last league game against Liverpool.
The 3-3 draw with the Reds leaves the Royals one place and four points above Leicester, who sit in the one and only relegation spot, with the Foxes yet to pick up a point this season.
After beating Championship side Southampton 3-0 in the League Cup last weekend, Reading do have the chance to claim consecutive victories on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Tottenham have had a mixed start to the Women’s Super League season with their opening six matches resulting in three victories and three defeats.
All three of those defeats have taken place against teams currently in the top four, including a 3-0 defeat to London rivals Chelsea in their most recent league match.
Like Reading, Tottenham managed to return to winning ways in the League Cup last weekend, as they beat second-tier Coventry United.
Evelina Summanen, Rosella Ayane and Kerys Harrop all scored in the opening 25 minutes to give Tottenham a comfortable lead, before Amy Turner added a fourth on the hour mark, and although Coventry pulled a goal back in stoppage time, Lenna Gunning-Williams struck in the 93rd minute to wrap up a 5-1 victory.
Having already beaten Reading 2-1 in their League Cup group this season, Rehanne Skinner’s side may be confident that they can collect all three points on Sunday.
Reading Women vs. Tottenham Hotspur Ladies Head to head
