Leeds United vs Norwich City Match Analysis & Prediction

A spot in the Championship playoff final is at stake when Leeds United host Norwich City at Elland Road for the second leg of their semi-final tie on Thursday night.
The tie is delicately poised after the two sides could not be separated in a goalless draw in last weekend’s first leg at Carrow Road.
In the first leg, the two sides cancelled each other out and lacked the cutting edge required to take a valuable advantage into the second leg. Just 13 shots were registered in the entire game, which also had an xG of just 0.76 – only four Championship matches have had fewer shots and a lower xG this season.
Daniel Farke would presumably have been the happier of the two managers to come away from Norfolk with a draw, considering that his Leeds side came up against a Norwich outfit that have not lost on home soil since November 5.
Leeds enter Thursday’s contest having won just one of their last seven matches and have failed to score in four of those, including two of their last three games at Elland Road.
Norwich also find themselves in a difficult spell of form as they have won just two of their last eight matches since the beginning of April, failing to win any of their last four in the process. They have also prevailed in just four of their last 10 away games.
Norwich’s recent head-to-head record with Leeds leaves little to be desired, as they have won just two of their last 12 encounters with the Whites across all competitions.
However, their most recent triumph came at Elland Road in February 2019 under the tutelage of current Leeds manager Farke, who steered the Canaries to a 3-1 victory in the Championship en route to winning the title.
Leeds United vs. Norwich City Head to head
In the previous 48 meetings between these two teams, Leeds have claimed 22 victories while Norwich have won 13, and they have drawn in 13. Norwich have scored 68 goals and conceded 70 in the process.

Leeds United Team News
Leeds defender Pascal Struijk has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing groin surgery, while striker Patrick Bamford is out for a few weeks and will be a major doubt if the Whites make the playoff final.
One of midfielders Archie Gray, Glen Kamara and Ilia Gruev could make way for Joel Piroe to start in attack of Farke opts to bolster his frontline that should also include Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville.

Norwich City Team News
Norwich City are seating over the fitness of striker Joshua Sargent, who was forced off in the closing stages of the first leg with an ankle injury.
The potential absence of Ashley Barnes and Sargent could see forward Sydney van Hooijdonk handed his first start for the Canaries since joining the club on loan in January.
