Partick Thistle will take a narrow lead into the second leg of their Scottish Premiership playoff quarter-final against Queen’s Park FC on Friday night.
The two sides played out a seven-goal thriller in the first leg on Tuesday, with Partick managing to record a 4-3 victory and gain an advantage through a 97th-minute goal from Brian Graham.
Queen’s Park finished third in this season’s Socttish Championship, picking up 58 points from their 36 matches, only behind second-placed Ayr United on goal difference.
Owen Coyle’s side are bidding to return to the top flight for the first time since 1983, and it would be some achievement considering their recent struggles in the lower divisions.
The Spiders were on the verge of securing what would have been a good result against Partick in Glasgow on Tuesday, but the 97th-minute winner from Graham has given the visitors an advantage in the tie.
