Hibernian vs Livingston Match Analysis & Prediction
24/12/2022 5:00 pm
Hibernian will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Scottish Premiership this weekend when they play host to Livingston at Easter Road Stadium on Saturday.
The hosts head into the contest off the back of a defeat to Rangers, while the visitors make their way though to Edinburgh following a narrow loss to Celtic.
Hibernian have experienced an inconsistent 2022-23 campaign and sit eighth in the Scottish Premiership standings, having picked up 20 points from 17 league matches.
Despite a positive start to life in charge, Lee Johnson has won just one of his last eight league matches, and his side is in danger of falling away from contention for the European spots.
Hibernian suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat to Rangers at Ibrox last time out, as an Alfredo Morelos winner in the 62nd minute was enough to condemn the visitors to another loss despite an encouraging display.
Meanwhile, Livingston have again been solid in the Scottish Premiership this season and sit sixth in the league with 23 points from 16 matches.
Much of their success has been due to solid defensive foundations, which has seen the Lions concede just 22 goals this season under David Martindale.
Livingston were unable to come away with anything from Celtic Park in a 2-1 defeat to the leaders Celtic in their most recent game.
The Lions will hope to improve their away form in the coming months, starting with this weekend, as they have won just two matches from eight attempts on their travels in 2022-23.
Should the visitors take maximum points against Hibernian on Saturday, they could move into third if other results in the division fall their way.

Hibernian have been the dominant side between these two teams, winning 22 matches ahile Livingston have won 14, and they have drawn in six of their 42 encounters so far. Hibernian have scored 69 goals and conceded 52 in the process.
