Fifth takes on fourth as the Premiership returns to action this weekend with Hibernian welcoming Dundee United to Easter Road for their league Matchday 32 fixture on Saturday evening with kickoff at 17:00.
Hibernian suffered a shocking 3-1 defeat at the hands of Aberdeen before the international break; with the Hibees giving away a 1-0 lead and finished the match with 10 men as Ryan Porteous was send off. The defeat was blow to Shaun Maloney’s side as it ended their six-match unbeaten run across all competitions and it saw their Saturday visitors displace them in the standings.
It also extended their winless run in the Premiership to four matches as they were coming off a trio of goalless draws, which something they will want to put an end to in their forthcoming matches to maintain a place in the top half.
A win on Saturday would see them leapfrog their opponents in the table taking them back to fourth place and they will be up for it.
Meanwhile Dundee United will be aware of the Hibs intentions and will be actively looking to avoid a defeat on the weekend as they aim to keep their status in the standing. A win on Saturday would leave Tam Courts’ side in a good place to finish in the top half and thus will enter the match all guns blazing.
The Terrors head into the match in a good mood having claimed a 2-1 victory over St Mirren at away last time out in the Premiership. The match ended their five-game winless run across competitions, which included the 3-0 defeat to Celtic at home in the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup.
Tam Courts will now want to see his side build on their previous victory as they look to end the campaign on a high note and in the top-half. But Courts’ men have struggled on the road having won just three of their 16 away games this season, something they will need to improve upon with the pressure from the other teams below them.
