Both Hull City and Everton will be looking to end their poor run of form when they lock horns in the third round of the FA Cup at on Saturday night with kickoff at 20:30.
Hull City had a difficult start to their Championship campaign this season with the club spending some time in the relegation zone. However, Hull managed to put together an impressive six-match unbeaten run, which included a four-match winning streak from November. The run helped the Tigers climb out of the relegation zone and are now 19th in the table with four points clear of the drop zone.
However, Hull ended 2021 in poor way as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Nottingham and also opened 2022 in the way as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Blackpool at away and will be hoping to put an end to the losing streak on Saturday as they aim at boosting their confidence for when they return to second-tier action. But, they have been on the receiving end and are winless in 18 FA Cup matches against Premier League opponents when they are outside the top-flight themselves.
Meanwhile Everton have had minimal good days in the Premier League this season with club managing just five victories from their 18 top flight matches and have collected 19 points which have left them in 15th with eight points clear of the relegation zone.
The Merseysiders head into the match in a poor form having only won just one of their last 12 Premier League matches and things did go their way last time out as they suffered a 3-2 defeat to Brighton with Anthony Gordon scoring the two consolation goals for Rafa Benitez’s Everton.
However, Everton will fancy their chances on Saturday against a Championship outfit Hull City, who they have won four of their last seven games against. Also, the visitors will be motivated to build on their quarter-final finish in the FA Cup and will be looking to push further up the competition this season as they aim at ending their poor form.
