Chelsea and Liverpool will renew their hostilities this Saturday when they lock horns in the final of the FA Cup at Wembley Stadium.
We are expecting a very close encounter as both sides will be gunning for the trophy here, with Chelsea looking for their first domestic Cup this season while Liverpool will be seeking for their second Cup this season. The Reds won the League Cup over Chelsea, prevailing 11-10 in penalties after it ended 0-0 in extra time. The two have also played out 1-1 and 2-2 draws in the Premier League this season.
However, Liverpool are the most form sides between the two with the Reds only losing 2-1 to Inter Milan in their last 31 games across all competitions and have won 12 of their last 15 games in all competitions. They warmed up for this fixture with a 2-1 away victory over Aston Villa last Tuesday.
Meanwhile the Blues have struggling for form recently having managed to claim just two victories in their last six games in all competitions, while picking up two draws and suffering two defeats in the process. Thomas Tuchel’s however warmed up with a strong 3-0 away victory against a relegation-threatened Leeds United.
Liverpool’s quadruple is still achievable and we believe that they will be more motivated on Saturday, but Chelsea have a poor to prove in this fixture and thus there is a high probability that this will also be decided in the penalties.
