A battle between two teams in the bottom half of the Scottish Premiership—Hibernian and Kilmarnock—will take place on Saturday as the home side welcomes its newly-promoted neighbour to Easter Road with kickoff at 5 pm.
Hibernians have had a roller-coaster start to the season. After winning 1-0 away at St Johnstone on the opening weekend of the new Premiership season, Hibs have fluctuated between a defeat and a draw in their last four games.
The Edinburgh side has arguably claimed solitary points in their toughest fixtures, drawing 1-1 in the Edinburgh derby against Hearts before playing out an action-packed 2-2 draw against nine-man Rangers.
However, Lee Johnson’s men have suffered defeats away from home against Livingston and St Mirren, losing 1-0 against the latter last weekend. Hibernian will be confident of returning to winning ways on Saturday as they have won each of their last five meetings against Kilmarnock.
Kilmarnock picked up where they left off last weekend, defeating Hearts 1-0 at Tynecastle in the League Cup.
Innes Cameron scored his first goal of the season and the only game goal in the 21st minute to help Killie progress to the third round for just their second time in seven years. Derek McInnes will be keen to see his side build on their positive momentum with another victory against Edinburgh-based opposition this weekend.
