Cameroon, the Africa Cup of Nations 2021, will play their second group stage game at Olembe Stadium on Thursday. They will lock horns with Ethiopia with kickoff at 7 pm.
On Sunday evening, Cameroon beat Burkina Faso by 2-1 in their opener. Goalkeeper Andre Onana was the man to blame for his side’s conceding of the first goal.
The Indomitable Lions fought back brilliantly in the second half, though, with Vincent Aboubakar scoring twice from the spot against a hapless Zimbabwe.
In addition, The Indomitable Lions may have deserved to win by more than just a single goal last time out and will now be looking to show that performance on Thursday.
Ethiopia was beaten 1-0 by Cape Verde in their opening game. Yared Baye, who plays in Ethiopia, received a red card after 12 minutes for a dangerous tackle, leaving his team with an impossible task.
Also, Ethiopia will now be looking to get that elusive win in Group A of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations as they look to make it to the knockout stages for the first time since 1968.
Cameroon and Ethiopia have only played two games against each other. The first meeting came in the group stages of the Africa Cup of Nations back in 1970, with Cameroon winning 3-2.
The second and latest meeting between them came back in 2016 and ended with neither side scoring.
