Togo and Cape Verde, both seeking their first win in Group B of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, will clash at the Stade de Marrakech on Tuesday, kickoff at 7 pm.
When Cape Verde and Burkina Faso met in their Group C opener at the Stade de Marrakech on Thursday, it was a one-sided affair. Ajax forward Hassane Bande put Les Etalons ahead in the 58th minute before Dango Ouattara ensured the result with an 88th-minute strike.
Before that, Cape Verde was on a three-game winning streak, seeing off Guadeloupe 3-2, Liechtenstein 5-1 and San Marino 2-0 in their three friendly fixtures back in March.
Bubista’s side has gone four games without a win, with two draws and two defeats since January’s 1–0 victory over Ethiopia in their 2022 Africa Cup of Nations opener. They will be looking to end this dry spell and get their campaign up and running, but next up is the challenge of taking on an opposing side who won their last two games away from home.
On the other hand, Togo was denied an opening-day win on Thursday when they twice surrendered the lead before settling for a somewhat disappointing 2-2 draw with Eswatini.

Cape Verde Team News
Following their opening-day defeat at the hands of Belenenses, manager Bubista could stick to his preferred 5-3-2 formation with a back five of Steve Furtado, Diney, Roberto Lopes and Stopira. Twenty-seven-year-old Carlos Ponck should be tasked with winning the midfield battle alongside Bebe and Jamiro Monteiro.
Togo Team News
Doh Laba and Placca have netted in the same match before, which could do again against Eswatini. Reims midfielder Jacques-Alaixys Romao should be retained in midfield, having played well in the opener. We should see a centre-back pairing of Djene and Santa Clara man Kennedy Boateng.
Prediction and Odds
Togo has not won in their last seven games, but they are unbeaten in their last seven outings. We predict a cagey affair with Cape Verde coming away with a slender victory.
