Viking will welcome Sparta Prague to the Viking Stadion for the second leg of their Europa Conference League second qualifying round tie on Thursday.
The tie is delicately poised heading into the second leg as the two played out a 0-0 draw in the first leg in Czech Republic last week.
Viking followed that with a 4-2 defeat to Valerenga in the Norwegian Eliteserien last Sunday. The defeat ended their two-match winning streak in the league, while they have now failed to win their last two across all competitions.
Returning home for the second leg, Viking will be counting on their home support to clinch a place in the third qualifying round of the competition. However, they have recorded mixed results at home recently, picking up one win, two draws and one defeat in their last four games at Viking Stadion.
Meanwhile, Sparta Prague have not been in actions since the first leg, and thus they head into the Thursday’s tie winless in their last three consecutive matches.
The Czechs will now be desperate to end the dry spell and continue their hunt for a place in the Europa Conference League proper. However, they will need to be on top of the game as they have recently been struggling at away, suffering for defeats from their last five on the road games.
