Second takes on third in Group H of the Conference League as Pyunik welcome Zalgiris to the Republican Stadium for their round three tie on Thursday night.
Pyunik have managed to pick three points from two opening matches and now sit second in Group H, three points behind leaders FC Basel and two points above FK Zalgiris in third place.
They went down 3-1 to Basel on the opening night, but bounced back with an impressive 2-0 win against Slovan Bratislava a week later. They will look to make back to back victories in the competition on Thursday as they strengthen their bid for knockout stages.
The Armenian outfit is coming off a confidence-boosting 5-1 home win over Alashkert Yerevan, which extended their home winning streak to five across all competitions. Therefore they will really fancy chances on Thursday.
Meanwhile Zalgiris have only picked up one point from their opening two matches in the group and sit third level on point with fourth-placed Bratislava. However a win on Thursday could see them climb above their hosts as they sit just two points behind.
Zalgiris have won three games on the spin, most recently a 2-1 win in the Lithuanian Cup against Kauno Zalgiris. Prior to that, the Lithuanian champions were victorious in home matches against Suduva and Riteriai in A Lyga action, with the side once again dominating their domestic league.
They will therefore draw confidence from the run as they hope to keep their hopes of advancing to the knockout stages of the Conference league alive.
