Slovan Bratislava and Zrinjski Mostar will be battling for a place in the Europa Conference League when they face off at Tehelne Pole in the second leg of their playoff tie on Thursday night.
Zrinjski managed to claim a first-leg advantage at home last week thanks to Nemanja Bilibja’s 90th-minute goal that saw them win 1-0 on the day. They took advantage of their opponents having a man sent off at just over the hour mark.
Zrinjski have not been action since the first leg, but are in good form having won four and drawn one of their last five matches across all competitions and will look to extend the run on Thursday as they look to advance to the group stage of the Conference League.
Meanwhile Bratislava could have forced the first leg to end in a goalless draw, but Barseghyan’s red card suspension in the 68th minute saw them collapse from their dominance to hand their rivals the advantage in the tie.
They however managed to bounce back with a 3-1 home win over Zilina in the domestic league and they will look draw confidence from that victory as they hope to overturn the tie on Thursday. They are a tough side to beat at home and they look to use their home support to the maximum on Thursday.
