Qaraba will host Ferencvaros at the Azarsun Arena in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League third qualifying round on Wednesday night.
Both sides began their qualification campaigns in the first round with Qarabag knocking out Lech Poznan 5-2 and Zurich 5-4 in the first and second rounds on aggregate, while Ferencvaros saw out Tobol 5-1 and Slovan Bratislava 5-2 in their opening two rounds.
Both will now be looking to edge an inch closer to the Champions group stage and both will be fancying their chances.
The hosts have not been in action since the last round, but are in a good shape as they have only lost one their last six matches, while are unbeaten at home in their last 28 across all competitions. They will want to extend the run as they hope to keep their search for a first Champions League group appearance since 2017/18 alive.
Meanwhile Ferencvaros are coming off a 1-0 victory over Puskas Akademia in their Hungary NB I opener, with Kristoffer Zachariassen netting the winner in the stoppage time. The Hungarians have now won their last two consecutively, while have lost just one of their last seven and are unbeaten in their last 13 away matches.
Therefore we expect a closely-fought encounter, although Qarabag will want to use their home advantage to gain the upper hand before the second leg at away.
