16/12/2022 11:30 pm
In the Taca da Liga, Group A’s top team, Porto, will be looking to secure a second win from two games when they host Vizela at the Estadio do Dragao on Friday.
The visitors, making only their second appearance in the competition, have picked up two points so far and must claim all three on offer to keep alive hopes of reaching the knockout stage for the first time.
On November 29, Portuguese giants FC Porto got back on track as they defeated Chaves 2-0 at the Estadio Municipal Eng.
Manuel Branco Teixeira. Danny Loader turned in an outstanding man-of-the-match performance, scoring two second-half goals to give his side a comfortable win.
This came after a somewhat disappointing 2-2 draw against Segunda Liga side Mafra in their cup curtain-raiser on November 25, which saw their four-game winning streak end.
Porto, currently top of Group A with four points from their opening two games, head into the weekend unbeaten in each of their last eight matches across all competitions, claiming six wins and two draws.
In a heated contest at the Estadio Municipal de Mafra, Bruno Wilson scored in the 70th minute to cancel out Ousmane Diomande’s first-half opener before penalty kick specialist Milutin Osmajic struck the post from 23 yards out in the 93rd minute as Vizela settled for a 1-1 draw against Mafra on Monday.
Before that, Vizela snapped their four-game winless run on November 13 when they claimed a 2-0 victory over Pacos de Ferreira in the Primeira Liga before holding out for a 2-2 draw versus Chaves in their cup opener one week later.
Porto FC vs. Vizela Head to head
Both sides have three games against each other with the hosts taking all three wins while the visitors still winless.

With a final group game against Chaves looming, Loader could earn another start in front of the goal alongside Toni Martinez. We expect Wanderson Galeno, Marco Grujic, Mateus Uribe, and Pepe to start in midfield.
Ivan Marcano and Fabio Cardoso should start at center-back, while Conceicao will be without the services of Gabriel Veron and Zaidu Sanusi due to knee and muscle injuries, respectively.
