Istanbul Basaksehir will be looking to secure a third victory in four matches when they host Caykur Rizespor at the Basaksehir Fatih Terim Stadyumu on Sunday.
On the other hand, the visitors make the trip to the Turkish capital this weekend aiming to secure a fourth win on the bounce.
Istanbul Basaksehir just about came out on top from a thrilling five-goal match against Pendikspor at the Pendik Stadyumu on Sunday.
Cagdas Atan’s side fell behind to Mame Thiam’s opener but managed to turn the game around through a Joao Figueiredo double after which Fredrik Midtsjo equalised, only for Dimitrios Pelkas to decide the game 10 minutes from time.
Consequently, the Grey Owls have claimbed up to sixth position in the Turkish Super Lig standings, five points adrift of the top four with a game in hand.
Meanwhile, Rizespor ran out emphatic 3-0 winners against Antalyaspor when the sides met at the Caykur Didi Stadyumu on Sunday.
Goals in both halves from Altin Zeqiri put Ilhan Palut’s side in the driving seat after which Adolfo Gaich sealed the deal in the 82nd minute.
With 48 points collected from 32 matches so far, the Black Sea Sparrowhawks occupy fifth position in the league standings, one place and two points clear of their next opponents.
Having recently ended a 12-game winless run on the road, Rizespor now go in search of successive victories away from home for the first time since September 2023.
