Leicester City vs Blackburn Rovers Match Analysis & Prediction
04/05/2024 2:30 pm
Leicester City will be looking to reach the 100-point mark when the already-crowned Championship winners welcome Blackburn Rovers to the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
While the Foxes are guaranteed first position in the standings, Blackburn need a point from this match to secure their survival in the second tier.
On the back of losing back-to-back matches against Millwall and Plymouth Argyle, many felt that Leicester had suddenly become outsiders for automatic promotion.
However, Enzo Maresca’s side have impressively responded with three victories in succession to secure the Championship title with a game left to play.
Overcoming West Bromwich Albion by a 2-1 scoreline was the pivotal result, yet beating Southampton and Preston North End through eight goals across those matches have been equally impactful.
Leeds United’s 4-0 defeat at Queens Park Rangers initially got the Foxes over the line last Friday, before they secured a 3-0 victory at Preston three days later.
Meanwhile, Blackburn have been involved in a relegation battle of late courtesy of having won just two of their last 15 matches in the Championship.
John Eustace has failed to have the same kind of influence as he was having at Birmingham City earlier in the season, but he has moved Blackburn to the brink of survival.
Since returning from the March international break, Blackburn have collected eight points from six matches, a run which has included victories at Sunderland and Leeds.
While Rovers could only draw against Coventry last weekend, it was a point which took them to the 50-point mark and ensured that Birmingham and Plymouth Argyle must each win their respective matches for Blackburn to have any concerns over dropping into League One.
Leicester City vs. Blackburn Rovers Head to head
In the previous 58 meetings between these two teams, Leicester have claimed 18 victories while Blackburn have won 24, and they have drawn in 16. Blackburn have scored 91 goals and conceded 79 in the process.

Maresca’s Leicester lineup is somewhat of an unknown given that the title race is over and the Italian rotated his squad against Preston.

Blackburn Rovers Team News
Eustace is likely plausibly select the same Blackburn Rovers starting lineup from the goalless draw against Coventry City.
If a change is made, Ben Chrisene may return at left wing-back, but John Fleck and Arnor Sigurdsson are among the players who are absent through injury.
