26/12/2023 10:45 pm
Leicester City will be looking to put more distance between themselves and Ipswich Town at the top of the Championship standings when the two sides meet at Portman Road on Tuesday night.
The visitors are currently sitting atop the Championship table on 58 points from 23 matches, while Ipswich are second on 52 points through the same number of games.
The Foxes lead third-placed Leeds United, the first club outside of the automatic promotion spots, by 13 points, while the Tractor Boys are seven points ahead of the Whites.
Ipswich suffered a 4-0 defeat to Leeds United at Elland Road in their last Championship match, halting their five-game unbeaten streak.
The Tractor Boys have been tough to beat at Portman Road this season with nine wins, one draw and just one loss in 11 Championship matches, and they find themselves in the midst of a nine-game home unbeaten run dating back to September 2 against Cardiff City.
Leicester will enter the contest off the back of a 3-0 home victory over Rotherham United, which saw them extend their unbeaten run to seven games.
With nine wins, one draw and just one loss on their travels, the Foxes boast a fine away record in league away matches this season.
Enzo Maresca’s side are looking to add to a three-game away unbeaten run, having not suffered defeat away since November 11 against Middlesbrough.
