Having taken a 1-0 away lead, Partizan will host Sparta Prague on Thursday for the second leg of their Europa Conference League knockout round playoff tie.
The defeat last week ended Sparta Prague’s eight-game unbeaten run, while the hosts enter the contest off the back of a nine-game undefeated streak in all competitions.
Partizan picked up a narrow victory in Prague last Thursday with a 78th-minute goal from Qaeensy Menig proving to be enough to help his side gain a 1-0 advantage.
That result was followed with a 2-0 home victory over Radnicki 1923 at the Super Liga, courtesy of goals from Ricardo Gomes and Milos Jojic.
Following their return from the winter break, Aleksandar Stanojevic’s side have picked up three consecutive victories to ensure they head into Thursday’s fixture in a confident mood.
The Serbian outfit seem to fare well at home, having not been defeated at the Partizan Stadium since a 1-0 loss to Gent on October 21.
Since that Europa Conference League group stage loss, Partizan have been on a eight-game unbeaten home run across all competitions.
On the other hand, Sparta Prague head into the contest being aware that they will have to pick up a victory in Belgarade if they are to secure a spot in the last 16.
The visitors have had mixed fortunes since their return from their winter break, drawing two league matches on either side of a cup win before suffering a narrow defeat in the first leg last week.
With no game at the weekend, the side from the Czech Republic have had a week to prepare for their trip to Belgrade.
Sparta Prague are yet to win away in European competition this season, with their poor away form in the Europa League group stage contributing to them dropping down to the Europa Conference League.
