Partizan vs Feyenoord Match Analysis and Prediction

Partizan and Feyenoord will square off in Belgrade on Thursday as they begin their battle for a place in the Europa Conference League quarter-finals.

The hosts had to navigate their way through a playoff tie to reach the round of 16, while Feyenoord cruised through the stage.

After finishing second in the Serbian top flight last season, Aleksandar Stanojevic’s side had to battle through three rounds of qualifying for the Europa Conference League, finally reaching the group stage after two-legged wins over DAC Dunajska Streda, Sochi and Santa Clara.

They then made the perfect start to the group, defeating Anorthosis and Flora in their first two games, but after earning only two points from the last four matches, they dropped to a second-placed finish and had to battle in the playoffs for a place in the round of 16.

The Black-Whites met Sparta Prague and advanced somewhat against odds courtesy of 1-0 and 2-1 wins in the away and home legs respectively.

Partizan come into the round of 16 having bounced back from a defeat to title rivals Red Star Belgrade with consecutive victories over Mladost Lucani and Spartak Subotica to remain two points clear at the top of the domestic top flight.

Meanwhile, Feyenoord enter the contest aiming to extend their continental run following a dominant showing in the group stage, after they defeated Drita, Luzern and Elfsborg in qualification.

In their six group stage games, De Stadionclub picked up 14 points with four victories and draws with Maccabi Haifa and Slavia Prague, scoring 11 goals and comfortably finishing at the top as a result.

That saw Feyenoord earn automatic progression to the round of 16, and they find themselves looking to bounce back to winning ways after consecutive disappointing results in the Eredivisie, losing to AZ Alkmaar and drawing 1-1 with Groningen.
