Olympiacos will host Maccabi Haifa at the Karaiskakis Stadium for the second leg of their Champions League qualifier on Wednesday night.
The two played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg at the Sammy Ofer Stadium last week, with Philip Zinckernagel giving Olympiacos an early opener in the seventh minute, while Dolev Haziza found a late equalizer for Maccabi Haifa in the 92nd minute.
Both sides have not been in action since the first leg as both their respective domestic leagues are yet to kickoff and thus both sides will be well rested for the second leg.
However, Olympiacos will have the support of their passionate home crowd for Wednesday’s fixture in Piraeus and considering their home form, they will fancy their chances. They have only lost three of their last 28 competitive games at the Karaiskakis Stadium and will want to extend the form.
Meanwhile, Maccabi Haifa have been struggling on the road recently as they have suffered five defeats from their last six away matches stretching back to last season, a ran they will be desperate to end on Wednesday as they hope to push their qualification campaign to the next round. However, they will need to be on top of their games as they lost the last three consecutively at away.
