To bounce back from their National League defeat at Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday, Notts County will welcome bottom-of-the-table Dover Athletic to Meadow Lane on Monday afternoon with kickoff at 5 pm.
On Saturday, Grimsby Town’s Under-18s hosted Aldershot Town in the EFL Youth Alliance East Conference at Grimsby Institute.
Grimsby goals from Callum Roberts and Tom Lapslie looked to have earned a point on the day and a spot in the top four in the first half.
However, with no time left on the clock, Aldershot striker, Sam Staunton gave his side a shock lead and then netted again midway through the second half to earn them all three points.
Moreover, with Chesterfield and Lincoln City dropping points elsewhere at the weekend, the Magpies’ defeat went relatively unpunished, remaining in sixth place.
Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at home to Altrincham was another blow in what has been a miserable campaign for Dover.
Just two wins have been picked up all season long by Andy Hessenthaler’s side, and with relegation confirmed several weeks ago, the focus will have been turned to a full rebuild of the club from top to bottom in the summer.
However, the Whites must still look to play competitively in their last few matches to provide themselves with as much pride as possible.
