A spot in the Champions League group stages will be at stake when Maccabi Haifa and red Star Belgrade face each other in a two-legged tie.
Maccabi started their Champions League qualification campaign in the second round, where they emphatically saw out Olympiacos 5-1 on aggregate before knocking out Apollon Limassol 4-2 on aggregate in the third round to book a place in the playoffs.
They will now be looking to extend their run the competition as they seek to qualify for the group stages. The Israelites have not been in action since their second leg match against Limassol in the third round and will hope that they are well-rested on Wednesday.
Maccabi are a good side at home and will hope that they can get a first leg advantage in the fixture at home before the second leg in Serbia next week.
Meanwhile Red Star Belgrade started their qualification campaign in the third round where they made an easy meal out of Pyunik Yerevan, beating them 7-0 on aggregate to book a place in the playoffs against Maccabi Haifa.
Red Star are coming off a 4-0 win over Vozdovac Belgrade in their Serbian SuperLiga, which extended their winning run seven matches across all competitions. Also they have won all their last seven matches on the road and will be confident of claiming an away advantage in the clash.
But they will need to bring their A-game as Maccabi Haifa are a tough nut to crack at home.
