Leicester City vs Roma Match Analysis and Prediction

Leicester City and Roma battle it out for a place in the Europa Conference League final on Thursday, with the first leg taking place at the King Power Stadium.

Brendan Rodgers’ side overturned a late deficit to see off PSV Eindhoven in the quarter-finals, while a rampant second-leg display saw I Giallorossi dump out Bodo/Glimt.

The Foxes have had a mixed domestic campaign in the Premier League, with Leicester failing to keep pace in the fight for continental qualification, but a European run has been somewhat of a shinning light.

After dropping out of their Europa League group in third place, they entered the Conference League in the playoff round, and they defeated Randers 7-2 over two legs before seeing off Rennes, eventually succeeding with a 3-2 aggregate win through a 2-0 victory at home.

That booked a semi-final tie with PSV Eindhoven, and after a goalless first leg, Leicetser fell behind in the Netherlands and trailed by one goal with 15 minutes left. James Maddison then levelled before Ricardo Pereira scored an 88th-minute winner to see them come out on top away from home and progress to the final four.

They host a Roma side who have been heavily fancied to advance far in the Europa Conference League since the beginning of the group stage, as I Giallorossi sailed through to round of 16 with relative ease, except a shock 6-1 defeat against Bodo/Glimt.

Mourinho’s side then fought hard to srape past Vitesse, before meeting Bodo/Glimt in the quarter-finals, and they again fell behind, heading into the second leg 2-1 down.

However, the Italian outfit managed to overturn the deficit on that occasion, picking up a dominant 4-0 victory on that occasion through a Nicolo Zaniolo hat-trick after Tammy Abraham’s opener. That saw Roma book their spot in the semi-finals

With little to separate the two sides, two evenly-matched sides take on each other in a high-stakes first leg, and we expect a tight affair.

Roma have faltered on the road in recent occasions, and are likely to repeat the same here. We are predicting a home win or a draw.
