Bodo/Glimt will look to seal their place in the second round of the Champions League qualifiers when they take on KI Klaksvik at Vid Djupumyrar in the second leg of their first-round tie on Tuesday night.
Bodo/Glimt lived-up to their expectation as the favorites in the first leg of as they claimed a comprehensive 3-0 win over Klaksvik at home last week. With now a three-goal advantage Bodo only need a draw to make it to the second round of the Champions League qualifiers.
Kjetil Knutsen’s side warmed-up for the second with an emphatic 4-1 win over Sarpsborg in their Eliteserien Matchday 13 tie last Saturday, making it their third victory in their last four league matches – a run that has seen them rise to fourth in the league standings.
They therefore head into the Tuesday clash in a good mood and should fancy their chances of completing a double over Klaksvik.
Meanwhile Faroe Island Premier League reigning champions, Klaksvik have not been involved in any action since the first leg with their next domestic league fixture scheduled for date 31st of this month.
The first leg set back ended their 15-match unbeaten run in the domestic league this season, where they have won 14 and drawn just one match. With now 43 points KI sit at the top of the league, eight points above second-placed Vikingur.
Mikkjal Thomassen’s side will now be desperate to complement their strong league campaign with a good run the qualifiers campaign, although that will require a lot of efforts to turn around a three-goal deficit.
