Ipswich will be looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Championship when they welcome Cheltenham Town to Portman Road on Tuesday night with kickoff at 22:45.
Ipswich Town have been having ups and downs this season, but in the recent weeks Kieran McKenna’s side have been in a fine form as they head into the match off four match unbeaten run and have only lost one of their last seven league matches claiming five wins in the run.
As a result the Tractor Boys have climbed into ninth where they sit on 51 points from 33 matches and are now just four points within the playoff spots.
Therefore, McKenna’s side will be looking to maintain their momentum as they seek to claim their fourth League One win in their last five matches, while pushing for a playoff berth in the process. They will fancy their chances as they also boast a fine home form recently having won all of their last four matches at Portman Road.
Meanwhile Cheltenham Town have made a slow campaign this season with the club recording 13 draws from their 32 matches which is the highest in the division and only Wimbledon have the same number. They were involved again in the share of the spoils in their previous League One match as they did well to hold Wycombe to a 5-5 draw last Saturday at away.
Alfie May stole the show for Cheltenham on the day as he netted four of his side’s five goals; including two crucial late strikes that sealed the point for Michael Duff’s side in the 10-goal thriller. The draw ended their two match winning streak but it marked their fifth league match without a defeat.
With 40 points collected form 32 matches Cheltenham sit 15th in the standings 11 points behind their opponents and are 10 points above the relegation zone. They will not worry about being dragged into the relegation scrap now, but surely will need to start putting wins on the table as they might find themselves in the relation battle in the next few weeks.
