Barrow have not progressed into round three of the FA Cup since 2017, and they have to win over Ipswich Town to do so this season.
Ipswich Town have also not appeared in the third round of the FA Cup since their relagation to League One, but will be the favourites this weekend.
They would have hoped for a better start of their third consecutive season in League One, currently at position 11 with 27 points, seven away from the playoffs positions.
Paul Cook’s side ended their three-game winless run in the league last weekend when they defeated Crewe Alexandra 2-1 at Portman Road through Bersant Celina’s goal and an own goal from Luke Offord.
Recently, they played Arsenal U21 in the EFL Trophy and the game ended in a 2-2 draw, where the Gunners went ahead by winning 4-3 on penalty shootouts.
Ipswich are currently the second top-scorers in the League One this season, scoring 36 goals in 20 matches.
At the moment, Barrow are on a nine-game winless run in League Two, leaving them sitted at the 20th spot and only four points above the relegation zone.
They failed to manage at least a point last weekend against sixth-place Sutton United, whose David Ajiboye scored in the 16th minute to secure the win.
The round two of the FA Cup is expected to be more challenging for Barrow, who succeeded through Banbury United in the first round, winning 4-0 in Oxfordshire, thanks to goals from Offrande Zanzala, Jordan Stevens, Josh Gordon and Oliver Banks.
Barrow’s home and away form is almost the same, which means that Mark Cooper’s side will not be disturbed at the test of travelling to Portman Road. However, Ipswich have only been defeated twice in the league on the home turf this season.
