Ham-Kam will look to make it back-to-back victories on the bounce in the Eliteserien when they host Sarpsborg at the Briskeby Arena in their Matchday 11 tie on Sunday.
Newly-promoted Ham-Kam have made a slow start to their campaign back in the Norwegian top flight, with the side picking up six draws in their opening 10 matches, winning two and losing two in the process.
Now, with 12 points Ham-Kam sit ninth in the league standings, level on points with Sandefjord, Tromso, and Odd all of whom are behind them on goal-difference, while are three points above the relegation zone. Jakob Michelsen’s side target this season is to secure their top flight football for next season and they will be happy with their progress so far.
They are coming off a confidence-boosting 2-1 away win over Jerv and they will be looking to build on that as they seek to climb further up the league table. However, they will need to be extra alert on Sunday as they take on Sarpsborg who seem to have found their stride in the league.
Sarpsborg picked up 5-1 victory last time out in the Eliteserien over a side that are above them in the league standings now, Stromsgodset. They have now scored five goals in each of their last two Eliteserien matches as they were previously off a 5-0 away win over Jerv.
The victories put an end to their three-match losing streak in the Norwegian top-flight and saw them rise to fifth in the standings, where they sit on 16 points one point behind fourth-placed Stromsgodset and five points outside the European places.
Stefan Billborn’s side will now be looking to extend their winning streak in the Eliteserien as they look to climb further closer to the top-three sides.
