Ferencvaros vs Monaco Match Analysis and Prediction

Ferencvaros will be looking to better their chances of finishing top of Group H of the Europa League when they take on Monaco at the Groupama Arena in their round five tie on Thursday night.

Ferencvaros have made an impressive campaign in the Europa League this season, with the Hungarians claiming nine points from their opening four games in Group H.

A 2-1 win over Red Star Belgrade last time out, saw Ferencvaros go three points in the clear at the top of Group H with two games still to go. They only need four points from the two fixtures to seal their place in the last 16 of the competitions, but a win on Thursday could as well see them seal their top finish in the group depending on results from elsewhere.

Stanislav Cherchesov’s side is coming off a 4-2 win at Puskas Akademia in the domestic league campaign, and they claimed a 1-0 win over Monaco in the reverse fixture at away. Therefore they should be confident of completing a double in front of their supporters.

Monaco have made an inconsistent run in Group H and currently sit third, level on six points with second-placed Trabzonspor.

A 4-0 defeat to the Turks last time out in the competition, saw Monaco go behind them on goal-difference. But, the Ligue 1 outfits still can finish top or second in this group with the two fixtures remaining.

They will need to win in both the remaining fixtures though, starting with a tough task at Ferencvaros. They are coming off a 4-3 away defeat to Lille in Ligue 1 and they will need to take things up a notch in the Thursday’s clash.
