Following a dramatic 4-4 draw in the Netherlands last week, Copenhagen and PSV Eindhoven will compete for a spot in the Europa Conference League quarter-finals in the Danish capital on Thursday.
After a dominant group-stage performance, Copenhagen advanced automatically to the Europa Conference League round of 16 and made a tough trip to Netherlands with the hopes of securing an away first leg result last week.
They took the lead on three separate occasions in Eindhoven, and they sat in a strong position at the interval at 3-1 up.
The hosts would move back level, only for Biel to score his second of the game to make it 4-3, and while they were unable to see out the away win, Jess Thorup’s side showed their ability in a tough away tie and should take positives from their attacking display.
The Byens Hold followed that up with an important 1-0 victory away at FC Midtjylland to move five points clear at the top of the Danish top flight on Sunday, as Khouma Babacar scored the winner in the 95th minute.
Now with home advantage in the second leg, Copenhagen will look to build on their exciting first-leg performance with a win to progress to the quarter-finals.
PSV Eindhoven will aim to improve on their performance in the first leg and see off the Danish outfit on their way to the final eight.
After a second-placed finish in their group stage, they had to battle through a playoff to reach the quarter-finals, and a 2-1 aggregate victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv confirmed their meeting with Copenhagen.
Roger Schmidt’s side headed into the home leg in fine form, having won seven of their last eight domestic games to move within two points of the top of the Eredivisie table and reach the KNVB Cup final.

Copenhagen will be without forward Khouma Babacar, who scored in the league at the weekend, as he is suspended for both legs.
Pep Biel will continue to lead the line after he hit a brace in the home leg, while Isak Bergmann Johannesson will again offer further threat from the right-hand side.
PSV Eindhoven news
Key man Eran Zahavi could be brought in from the outset on this occasion, and should be flanked by the duo of Cody Gakpo and Ritsu Doan, while experienced forward Mario Gotze will aslo feature.
Erick Gutierrez will likely anchor the midfield alongside either Ibrahim Sangare or Joey Veerman.
Prediction and Odds
After the dramatic first leg, we can expect another high-scoring encounter here, with both sides being capable of finding the back of the net of each other.
While PSV were not able to make the most of home advantage last week, we believe they have the quality to win here.
