Dynamo Kiev and Benfica will be fighting for a place in the Champions League when they face off at the Stadion LKS, in Poland, in the first leg of their playoff round on Wednesday night. The game will be played in Poland due to ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the home country for Dynamo Kiev.

Dynamo Kiev started their Champions League qualification campaign in the second round seeing out Fenerbahce 2-1 on aggregate, before knocking out Sturm Graz 3-1 on aggregate in the third round to book a place in the playoffs.

The Ukrainian outfits are regulars in the Champions League group stages and will be looking to play again in the continental showpiece this season, but they have won just one match in regulation time in their last seven matches across all competitions and will need to be at the top of their game on Wednesday.

Meanwhile Benfica started their Champions League qualification campaign in the third round where they saw out FC Midtjylland 7-2 on aggregate to book their place in the playoffs.

The Portuguese have been having a smooth run so far, as they have now won all their four competitive fixtures this season, with the other two coming in the Primeira Liga against Arouca (4-0) and Cas Pia (0-1).

They have now put together a 10-match winning streak including the pre-season friendlies and stretching back to last season and they will be looking to extend the run on Wednesday as they seek to put one leg in the Champions League.

Benfica have not lost to Kiev in their last four Champions League encounters claiming three victories and one draw in the run and should feel confident of extending the run.
