Dnipro-1 vs AZ Alkmaar Match Anaysis and Prediction

Dnipro-1 and AZ Alkmaar kick off their respective 2022-23 Europa Conference League campaigns with an encounter at the Kosicka Futbalova Arena on Thursday.

These teams have been drawn in Group E of the sophomore edition of Europe’s third tier competition alongside debutants Apollon Limassol and Vaduz.

Dnipro-1 continued their fine start to the new league season through a 2-0 victory over Veres-Rine at the Avanhard Stadium on Saturday.

Oleksandr Kucher’s side took the lead on the stroke of half time thanks to Yanis Hamache before Volodynyr Adamyuk got on the scoresheet two minutes into the second half to seal the victory.

As a result, Ukraine’s most recently created top-flight team are sitting in fifth place in the standings, three points adrift of Zorya Luhansk albet with a game in hand.

Having lost just one of their five most recent matches on home turf, Kucher’s side will be looking to secure yet another impressive result in front of their supporters.

Meanwhile, AZ Alkmaar saw off the threat of FC Emmen in a 3-0 victory when the sides met at De Oude Meerdijk on Sunday.

The Cheeseheads flew out of the blocks and got the job done in the first half thanks to goals from Jens Odgaard, Dani de Wit and Tijjani Reijnders.

Consequently, AZ have moved up to third place in the Eredivisie table, level on points with Feyenoord and two behind Ajax at the top of the standings.

Awaiting Pascal Jansen’s side is the start of their continental commitment as they look to improve upon last season’s round-of-16 exit against Bodo/Glimt.

Off the back of four victories on the bounce away from home across all competitions, Jansen’s side make the trip to Slovakia with the wind in their sails as they will be looking to pick up a positive result.

Dnipro-1 news

Algerian defender Yanis Hamache put on an impressive display on his debut for Dnipro-1 last time out, and he will be looking to deliver the goods once again.

Following their 2-0 victory over Veres last time out, Kucher could opt to select the same XI, with Artem Dovbyk and Artem Gromov starting up front.

AZ Alkmaar news

Zinho Vanheusden and Jesper Karlsson remain ruled out of action for AZ as they continue to nurse ankle and muscle injuries respectively.

Riechedly Bazoer is also set to miss out of this contest for the visitors through a muscle issue which has seen him miss each of the last six matches.
