Dinamo Zagreb vs Shkupi Match Analysis and Prediction

Dinamo Zagreb will begin their Champions League qualification campaign when they take on Shkupi in the first leg of the second qualifying round at the Stadion Maksimir on Tuesday night 22:00.

Dinamo Zagreb won the Croatian top-flight last season, booking an automatic place in the second round of the Champions League qualifiers, while the Macedonian champions, Shkupi, were forced to do it the hard way against Lincoln Red Imps in round one and very nearly let their Gibraltar-based counterparts overturn a 3-0 first-leg advantage. They did however manage to make it to the second round after a 3-2 victory on aggregate.

Dinamo Zagreb started the defence of their Croatian title last time out when they beat Lokomotiva 3-2 at home last week Friday. The victory extended their unbeaten run to 12 games across all completions stretching back to last season, claiming nine victories and three draws in the run. While it stretched their unbeaten run at home to 20 matches in all competitive and non-competitive matches.

They are therefore in a perfect form and a brilliant mood, and should fancy their chances of making it to the playoffs of the qualifiers with a double-head win against Shkupi over the two legs in this round of the qualifications.

Shkupi are yet to open their domestic league campaign and have not been in action since the losing out to Lincoln Red Imps in the second leg of their first round tie last week. They have now lost two of their last seven matches across all competitions and stretching back to last season. They have won two and drawn three in the run, but have failed to win any of their last four matches.

Therefore they need to work on their form heading into the fixture, although they have had enough rest and will be looking to use their energy to pick a positive result on Tuesday.
