Boreham Wood vs St Albans City Match Analysis and Prediction

Boreham Wood and St Albans City will be meeting on Monday as they renew their rivalry with a showdown in the FA Cup second round.

National League South side St Albans will be travelling to Meadow Park to face opponents who sit second in the division above them.

For a team of Boreham Wood’s size, progress in the National League has generally been regarded as a satisfactory achievement, but there is more to expect for this campaign.

They had an outstanding start into the season which has left them in contention for promotion to the EFL, while a tie on Monday gives the side every chance of reaching the third round of the FA Cup for the second successive season.

However, the league still remains their priority and Luke Garrard’s side are currently on a five-game unbeaten run, with a 1-1 draw being earned at home to Notts County last time out on November 23rd.

At the moment, it is still not clear if Boreham Wood would react positively to the two-week break, but they surely will want to maintain their current run in this competition.

They have recorded victories and clean sheets over Barnet and Eastleigh respectively, Scott Boden scoring two in the last round and he has now contributed two doubles in his last four away appearances.

Meanwhile, for St Albans, they have already played seven games to reach this stage, a run that icludes three replays.

Having defeated Concord Rangers, Metropolitan Police and Corinthian-Casuals, they faced a more challenging fixture against League Two Forest Green Rovers in the first round.

However, Ian Allison’s men put together their efforts and produced one of the club’s most memorable performances, coming from behind to take a 3-2 victory.

After that victory, St Albans came down to successive defeats, but they have recently got back on track with a victory over Oxford City in the FA Trophy.
