After a seven-game unbeaten run was brought to an end last time out, Bolton Wanderers hope to start another winning streak when they play host to AFC Wimbledon on Saturday with kickoff at 6 pm.
The Dons head into the weekend in 20th place at the other end of the table, with only a point separating them from last place.
A 3-1 defeat at home to Burton Albion in their latest league contest ended Bolton’s impressive unbeaten run after Ian Evatt’s side conceded three goals in the first 18 minutes against the Brewers.
In the seventh minute, Joe Powell scored with a close-range shot, but his goal was quickly followed by a John Brayford brace over the next 11 minutes, bringing Burton ahead by three goals by the 19th minute.
The hosts wrapped up all three points with a fourth goal late in the second half when striker Dion Charles scored a consolation goal for Bolton in the 93rd minute. Although one unbeaten run has ended, Bolton will look to extend their undefeated home streak to five games this weekend as they host Preston North End.
Wimbledon has been dragged into a relegation battle, with the Dons just one point away from being sent back to League Two after a 12-game winless run.
