West Ham will be looking to keep their 100% record in the EUFA Europa League when they travel to Lotto Park to take on Anderlecht in round three tie of their Group B on Thursday night.
West Ham have endured a difficult start to the Premier League, but they refused to let their league disappointments follow them in Europe as they have won both their opening Europa Conference League matches.
They were forced to come from behind to beat FCSB 3-1 at home on the opening night, before edging Silkeborg 3-2at away on a fiery second night. They lead the group now on six points two above Anderlecht in second place and five points above FCSB in third.
Therefore the Hammers are in a strong place to advance to the knockout stages, but they need to maintain their strong form in the competition. They beat Wolves 2-0 at home in their previous Premier League fixture and should feel confident on Thursday.
Meanwhile Anderlecht have made an inconsistent start to their Belgian Pro League and they sit 10th on 13 points from 10 games. They however have made an impressive start in the group stage of the Conference League as they remain unbeaten in Group B after two matches.
They narrowly edged Silkeborg 1-0 at home on the opening night, before 0-0 at FCSB a week later in the second match. They sit second on four points, two points behind leaders West Ham and two points above third placed FCSB, while are three points above Silkeborg who are yet to pick a point in the group.
A win therefore on Thursday will see them climb over West Ham to the top spot increasing their chances of making it to the last 16 automatically. The Belgians, though, are coming off a 1-0 home defeat to Charleroi and have much to amend as they face a much tougher opponent on Thursday.
