Wimbledon will welcome Crawley Town to Cherry Red Records Stadium for their second EFL Trophy tie in Southern Group B on Tuesday night.
The two sides have been struggling in League Two this season and currently sit 17th and 20th respectively in the fourth tier and they will both welcome this league break to get their affairs in order using the ELF Trophy.
Wimbledon lost 2-1 at away to Carlisle in League Two, making it their fourth league defeat in a row. they have managed to win only once in their last five matches across all competitions, with the only success in the run coming at home against Aston Villa U-21 in opening fixture of the EFL Cup.
Now returning to the EFL Trophy Wimbledon will be looking to maintain their perfect start as they look to keep their top spot in the group. They however have much to work on before the clash as they hope to end their three-match losing streak.
Meanwhile, Crawley suffered a 1-0 defeat at Crewe last time out in League Two, which ended their five-match unbeaten run across all competitions. They will now be looking to bounce back on Tuesday as they look to climb over Wimbledon in their EFL Trophy group.
Crawley sit second on two points in the group and win will see them take the lead. Therefore they will be in all guns blazing, but they will be aware of the treat their hosts pauses as the last time these two met, Wimbledon won 2-0 at away in League Two.
