Valencia vs Real Betis Match Analysis and Prediction

Following their Copa del Rey encounter last time, Valencia and Real Betis meet again in Tuesday’s La Liga clash at Estadio de Mestalla.

Real Betis came out on top on penalties in the showpiece event with Jose Bordalas’ side, who will be out for revenge in front of their own fans in midweek.

Valencia’s sharp fall from grace very nearly had a silver lining in the final of the 2021-22 Copa del Rey, but penalties haunted them against Betis two weeks ago, and their domestic fortunes have since not improved.

Now without a win in seven matches across all competitions, Los Che are still hanging onto their top-half spot as they sit 10th in the standings.

Valencia have been winless in La Liga matches since April 3, and fixtures against Espanyol and Celta Vigo are far from simple to go through either for Bordalas’ side who rarely succeed on their own turf.

Los Che have only recorded three wins from their last 15 La Liga matches at the Mestalla, and Real Betis have recent experience when it comes to getting the better of Valencia.

Meanwhile, Real Betis enjoyed a guard of honour from Barcelona on Saturday after triumphing in the Copa del Rey final, but could not reignite their top-four charge against Barca, who claimed a late victory against Pellegrini’s side.

While their cup victory means that they are guaranteed a spot in the Europa League irrespective of their league position, a four-game winless run in La Liga has denied them a spot in the Champions League qualification as they sit fifth in the standings.

Atletico Madrid have now moved six points clear of Betis after defeating their capital rivals Real Madrid on Sunday, and a tally of one goal from their last four La Liga matches does not inspire confidence within Los Verdiblancos ranks.
