Toulouse will face fourth-tier Versailles in the last-16 of the Coupe de France at the Stadium Municipal on Saturday evening with kickoff at 18:15.
Toulouse started their Coupe de France campaign in the first round where they needed penalties to knockout minnows Libourne wining 3-1 in the shoots following a 0-0 at fulltime. They then proceeded to beat Trelissac with the same scoreline during normal time in the second round, before seeing out Nimes 4-1 in the third round.
They secured their place in the round by eliminating Cannes with a 1-0 victory in the round of 32 and they will be looking to further up the competition.
They will fancy their chances as they head into the match in high spirits as they have not lost any of their last seven matches across all competitions claiming four victories and three draws in the run. However they are coming off a disappointing 0-0 draw with Bastia in their last league action.
The draw saw their Ligue 2 lead reduced to only one point and they will be looking to bounce back as they aim to boost their confidence before returning to take on Dijon in their next league fixture.
Meanwhile, Versailles are daring to dream as there are among the only two sides outside Ligue 1 and Ligue two to still have their Coupe de France campaign going strong, although, Youssef Chibhi’s men are yet to face a side in the third-tier and above.
They started their campaign in the first round where they knocked out Lumbres Ol by a 3-2 win, and then proceeded to knockout Poissy 1-0 in the second tier. They replicated that scoreline in the third round to see off Sarre before beating La Roche in the last round to book a place against Toulouse in this stage.
They will be looking to make a giant killing of a second-tier side and are in the right spirits to do that as they head into the match in a good form having lost none of their last seven matches across all competitions, claiming six wins and a draw in the run.
They will want to continue the good form as they aim to prolong their life in the important League Cup competition.
