Both Stuttgart and FC Koln will be looking to return to winning ways when they face off at Mercedes Benz Arena in their 2021/22 Bundesliga final fixture on Saturday evening with kickoff at 16:30 EAT.
Stuttgart have made a disappointing campaign this season as they have only managed to claim six victories from 33 games and head into the final tie of the season occupying the relegation-playoff spot with three points behind Hertha and three points above Arminia.
They still do have a slim chance salvage their season without going through the playoff, but that will require them to edge out FC Koln in this match and hope that Hertha get bettered in their fixture, because they have a better goal difference than Hertha.
However, they head into the match in poor form as they have failed to win in their last six Bundesliga games, picking up for draws and suffering two defeats in the run. They are coming off back-t-back draws though one of which is confidence-boosting 2-2 draw at Bayern Munich last time out.
Meanwhile FC Koln have made an impressive campaign this season and heading into the last fixture, Koln are fighting for a place in the European spots. They currently sit seventh on 52 points from 33 games, just two points behind sixth-paced Union Berlin.
A win therefore for Koln on Saturday could see them clinch a European finish this season and thus will head into the match all guns blazing. They missed out on a top-six spot last time out as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Wolfsburg, a defeat that also ended their four-match winning streak in Bundesliga last weekend.
They will now be looking to bounce back and having only fallen to Stuttgart once in their last four encounters, Koln should fancy their chances here.
