Spain and Portugal are set to begin their preparations for Euro 2020 campaign when they face off in an international friendly on Friday at Estadio Wanda Metropolitano with kickoff at 20:30.
Spain head into the match off the back of two wins including the 3-1 win over Kosovo back in April in a Word Cup qualifying match thanks to goals from Dani Olmo, Ferran Torres and Gerald Moreno. Luis Enrique’s side have been in a good form as they have not lost in any of their last six matches include three wins and three draws with a goal difference of +7 goals in that run.
The La Roja will kickoff their Euro 2020 campaign against Sweden in Seville on June 14, before also taking on Poland and Slovakia in group E and its going to be interesting to see how this major European side shape up after its major stars are no longer available for selection.
Portugal on the other hand haven’t lost in any of their last four games and have not also lost in their last six away matches including their ten-men 3-1 away win against Luxembourg thanks to goals from Diogo Jota, Cristiano Ronaldo and Joao Palhinha.
Fernando Santos’ side will open their Euro 2020 Campaign against Hungary in Budapest on June 15, before also taking on France and Germany in the absolutely fascinating group F.
