Sheriff Tiraspol and Pyunik Yerevan will be looking to book a place in the group stage of the Europa League when they face off at the Sherriff Stadium in the second leg of their playoff tie on Thursday night.

Sheriff Tiraspol had a good run in the Champions League last season, but they failed to book a return to the continental showpiece following a 4-2 aggregate loss to Viktoria Plzen in the third round of the Qualifying campaign.

Pyunik Yerevan also began their European qualification campaign in the Champions League, but they were knocked out following a 7-0 defeat to Red Star Belgrade in the third round, but they still have chance to play in the Europa League group stages with a win on Thursday.

The Armenians come into the clash off a 1-0 defeat to Van at home in their domestic league campaign and they have much to amend before the Thursday’s clash. They do struggle away from home and last time on the road they suffered a 5-0 defeat to Red Star Belgrade.

They are actually in a poor form having won just one of their last six matches across all competitions and have a lot to do before the second leg.
