Sheffield United will be looking to extend winning streak to three matches under Paul Heckingbottom when they welcome Queen’s Park Rangers to Bramall Lane on Monday night for the 22nd Championship round with kickoff at 22:45.
Many felt that it was a risk for Sheffield to part ways with Slavisa Jokanovic after their victory away at Reading regardless of their previous form this season. However, Paul Heckingbottom has proved that it was a good decision to bring him in as he has gotten off with back-to-back victories over Bristol City and Cardiff City.
Paul will now be hoping that his side can use their current form to bag another important win here. As it stands Sheffield are among the form sides in the league now as the club has now just lost one of their last six games and are coming off a three-match winning streak, which is a big thing in this highly competitive tier.
Sheffield will also be in for a victory as they are aim at breaking into the top half with the club sitting in the 13th on 29 points just two points behind the eighth-placed Nottingham Forest. They will also fancy their chances as they have won in all their last three meetings against QPR.
QPR meanwhile has been the most improved side in the division this season as the club was number 20 last year with 20 points, but now they are number five with 35 points on the board. They have bagged 10 wins from their 21 matches picking up five draws and tasting defeat six times in the run.
However, Mark Warburton stumped against Stoke City last weekend as they fell to a 2-0 defeat at home. The defeat was a blow to QPR’s promotion hopes as they are now just one point above the seventh-placed Coventry City. QPR hold the fifth place level on 35 points with Stoke City who are in the sixth.
Therefore, the Hoops are in danger of dropping out of the promotion places if they suffer another defeat here and will be desperate to bounce back here.
