Sevilla vs. Valencia Match Analysis and Prediction

The Sevilla coach, Jorge Sampaoli, will hope to continue his positive start with Los Nervionenses when they host Valencia on Tuesday night with kickoff at 8 pm.

Sevilla sacked Julen Lopetegui as head coach earlier this month, with Sampaoli returning for a second spell at the helm, having previously been in charge during the 2016-17 campaign.

Sampaoli’s first match was the 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao in La Liga on October 8. Sevilla will enter the match off the back of a victory, having beaten Mallorca in the league on Saturday, with Nemanja Gudelj scoring the only contest goal early in the second period.

Rojiblancos, who finished fourth in Spain’s top flight last season, currently sit 13th in La Liga table with seven points from nine games played so far this season; 10 points off league leaders Barcelona and 17 behind Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Valencia will enter the match after a 2-2 draw with Elche on Saturday. The result extended Los Che’s unbeaten run in La Liga to four matches and lifted them into seventh place in the table on 14 points.

After falling behind in the 29th minute, a double from Edinson Cavani late in the first period saw Valencia lead 2-1; Elche was not finished, though, and scored a second through Milla in the 65th minute before sharing points at Mestalla.

Sevilla Team News

Sevilla will again be without Jesus Manuel Corona and Karim Rekik due to injury, while Fernando is also a fitness doubt for the home side. Jesus Navas had to be replaced at the interval of last weekend’s game with Mallorca, which could mean Jose Angel Carmona comes in for a start against Valencia.

Valencia Team News

Valencia striker Edinson Cavani is a major doubt for the upcoming match against Betis after leaving his side’s encounter against Elche on Saturday at halftime due to injury. Hugo Duro could lead the away team’s attack, while Samu Castillejo and Jaume Domenech will again be unavailable for selection due to injury problems.

Both teams will be wary entering this match, which could create a cagey affair on Tuesday.
