Sevilla will look to snap their four-match winless run in La Liga when they host survival hopefuls Granada at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium in their league Matchday 31 clash on Friday night with kickoff at 22:00.
Sevilla enjoyed a fine start to the campaign and have spent most of the season in the second spot being the only rival of Real Madrid for the title. However, Los Sevillanos seem to have run out of steam as they have failed to win any of their last four matches across competitions, while have also failed to win in their last four La Liga matches.
They surrendered to a 1-0 defeat to the in-form Barcelona at away last Sunday. They have now lost one and drawn three of their last four league matches – a run that has seen them drop down into fourth in the standings although they are level on 57 points with both second-placed Barcelona and third-placed Atletico Madrid.
They will therefore be looking to bounce back to winnings ways to avoid further drops and at least maintain their Champions League spot. They will fancy their chances as they are currently in a fine home form having claimed four win and a draw in their last five matches at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
Granada on the other hand have made a poor campaign this season with the side managing to claim just six victories from their 30 matches so far, while picking up 11 draws and suffering 13 defeats in the process. They currently sit 16th in the La Liga standings on 29 points, just three points above the relegation zone.
They head into the in poor form having won just one game in the last 12 league matches. However, they have not lost their last two claiming a win and draw in the two. The win came at away, where they beat fellow strugglers Alaves 3-2 ending a run of four successive defeats on the road.
They have now won their last two away matches across all competitions and will look to extend that run as they look to salvage their season. Ruben Gonzalez’s side have fallen to Sevilla in their last three visits to Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, but they claimed a 1-0 win at home in the reverse fixture earlier this season and will look to draw confidence from that.
