Rwanda vs Uganda match Analysis and Prediction

On 7th October 2021, this Thursday Rwanda and Uganda go head to head in the third Group E fixture in the Africa 2022 FIFA world cup qualifiers at the Kigali Stadium.

Rwanda and Uganda come into this fixture with the two sides placed in the bottom two places in Group E. Rwanda are the nation at the bottom of the standings, while Uganda are just a point ahead of them in third.

Rwanda kicked off their World Cup qualifying campaign with a 1-0 loss at Mali before they welcomed Harambee stars in the second round the match ending in a 1-1 draw. Abdul Rwatubyaye scored the equalizing goal in that fixture after the Michael Olunga leading goal. Rwanda are the lowest ranked side in the group with only one point and another loss this week lowers there hope to proceed to the next level.

Uganda on the other hand, have been goalless in their both opening fixture games, drawing 0-0 against Kenya and Mali respectively. Getting goals has certainly been an issue for this side and this is something that they will need to address if they are to climb up the standings in the group.

Uganda have maintained two clean sheets in the qualifiers and this proves their solid defense coming to this fixture and it will be a low scoring match.  Uganda are placed at the third place at level with Harambee stars left behind on goal difference.  Both sides will need to improve on the displays that they have put in so far in Group E.

These sides are also scheduled to play again on Saturday in the return leg.
