Real Valladolid will be looking to return to winning ways on La Liga when they take on Elche at the Jose Zorrilla Stadium in their Matchday 13 tie on Saturday night.
Valladolid suffered a 2-0 away defeat to Osasuna last time out, which ended their back-to-back league victories. They currently sit 11th in the La Liga standings on 14 points from 12 games, one point outside the top half and one above 14th-placed Getafe.
Therefore another setback on Saturday could see them drop further down the table, and thus they will be looking to quickly bounce back to winning ways. They have not lost their last three home league matches, winning the last two against Celta Vigo (4-1) and Real Sociedad (1-0).
Pacheta’s side has also not lost to Elche in the last 10 meetings at Jose Zorrilla and they should therefore be confident of getting back their season back on track on Saturday.
Elche have made a poor campaign so far in La Liga this season having failed to win any of their 12 games. They currently sit at the bottom of the table on four points, six points adrift of safety and are coming off a 1-0 home defeat to Getafe.
Jorge Almiron’s side need to quickly turn around their results if there are avoid relegation this season. They have shown some promise in their attack in recent weeks, with 2-2 draws at Valencia and Espanyol proving that there is some firepower in amongst the ranks and they work on it as they seek their first win.
