Cadiz’s search for their first points of the 2022-23 La Liga campaign continues when they travel to Estadio Municipal Jose Zorrilla to face Real Valladolid with kickoff at 10 pm.
Real Valladolid spent last season in the Segunda Division, where they finished second and earned their return to La Liga. However, they have struggled in their first three matches at this level—losing 2-0 to Villarreal and Barcelona before drawing 1-1 with Sevilla on August 19.
The team finally managed to notch a win on September 5, with Shon Weissman’s last-minute strike securing three much-needed points against Almeria.
Real Valladolid could not build on this victory and lost 2-1 at Girona last time, leaving them 17th in the table going into their next set of matches.
Panic stations haven’t been reached at Cadiz, but there is no getting away from the fact that it has been a worrying start to the campaign for the club.
They are rock bottom of the table with five defeats from five matches, while they have conceded 14 times and are yet to find the back of the net themselves. Cadiz lost three times in August and was beaten 3-0 by Celta Vigo and 4-0 by Barcelona this month.

Real Valladolid Team News
Having been replaced in the first half of their last game, it is likely that both Sergi Guardiola (hip) and Luis Perez (muscle) will miss Real Valladolid’s match against Girona. This means that Weissman should start up front while 17-year-old Ivan Fresneda is set to debut on the right flank.
Cadiz Team News
The trio of absentees from Cadiz’s last game against Barcelona—Anthony Lozano, Juan Cala, and Jon Ander Garrido—will be unavailable for this weekend’s match. Changes are anticipated in the line-up that lost 4–0 to Xavi’s team, as Ruben Alcaraz, Tomas Alarcon, and Awer Mabil vie for starting spots.
