Real Madrid will be looking to extend their 100% record across all competitions when the welcome RB Leipzig to Santiago Bernabeu for their Champions League Matchday Two in Group F, on Wednesday night.
La Liga and Champions League champions, Real Madrid, have made a brilliant start to the campaign as they have won all their seven games across three competitions. They lifted the UEFA Super Cup with a 2-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on August 10, while they have won each of their five La Liga games this term and they opened their Champions League campaign with a 3-0 win over Celtic at away In Group F last midweek.
Los Blancos will now look to keep their brilliant 100% record on Wednesday and having not lost any of their last six matches at home, they should feel confident of claiming maximum points here.
Meanwhile, Leipzig have had difficult start to both Bundesliga and Champions League campaigns this season. The Red Bulls have so far won just two of their opening six Bundesliga games, picking up two draws and two defeats in the process. As result they sit 10th on eight points in the Bundesliga standings.
The disappointment extended in Europe where they suffered a shocking 4-1 home defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk on the opening night of the Champions League. However, they head into the Wednesday’s clash off a vital confidence-boosting 3-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in Bundesliga last weekend, and they will be desperate to build on the victory.
They are in a poor away form though, as they haven’t won any of their last six on the road games across all competitions and will have much to work on before the Wednesday’s tie.
